All just a part of the silly Wall Street Schmuck blitz before Q1 earnings showing that Apple's actually got a solid business and yet again exceeding their own expectations... -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. Not only this, but also the rehash of the smae news (Apple rumourred to have reduced orders for materials used to build iphone 5) causes the share price to five because the idiot Wall Street Casino Analysts see this as another sign of doom (even though that sign was already factored into the share price , and they conveniently forget that Apple may simply have found another supplier of LCDs to eplace Samsung, or that it is ramping up production of the 5S so it is ramping down orders for the 5).

Actually, they're using Lucky Goldstar, Sharp and Japan Display LCD's,"bottom of the barrel" manufacturers. You should check your facts before shooting off your mouth, Fangurl.

I find it all preposterous that teens would have any input to the advance of technology and its success with the world at large. On the other hand cool = new and passe = old. In this way tradition, musical styles, acting, politics, photography, fiction, writing, communication and clothing is all "bad" after it reaches a certain age or shelf-time. I don't think teens shape it, but convincing folks that last year's model is passe is the job of any marketing department. Frequently they are successful. So much so that it is practically a hallmark of American society. Tearing down old but beautiful and well-designed buildings to put up blocks of crap was a social necessity in the 60's. In the 90's retro-fitting and rennovation became de rigueur. Go figure.

Not to linger too long on memories of trench warfare, but I periodically recall when one weekend a month was consumed by working my way through some convoluted something-or-other somewhere in the middle of OS 8. These pampered babies today with their cellphones and their tiny waists and their legal pot--they don't know from hardship!

Teens gobble up new technology first. Senior citizens last. Teens also get their parents to pay for mobile services which they abuse as much as possible so they are good customers for mobile carriers since they want monthly plans with all the bells and whistles. (same apply to young adults at university etc). The Samsung Galaxy S3 commercial that was aired about the same time as the iphone5 launch played on this, with the young guy having a galaxy S3 and not wanting to come back to iphone, and keeping a spot FOR HIS PARENTS. (sending the message that the iphone was now for old people.) There is a similar phenomena for facebook where teens quickly adopted it, but now that their parents are getting on facebook too, facebook is no longer so interesting to teens. Teenagers are very big drivers for mobile tech. They don't bother using their voice anymore, they will text their friends, even f the friends are next to them.
