The best estimate so far is the "efficiency" cores cost you 15-20% over
the performance cores. I think it was Dan Moren from Six Colors who said
on a podcast that rendering an 80GB 4K video on a MacBook Air took about
205% of the battery and more than 100% of the battery on a Intel MacBook
Pro. And the Air was much faster.

Not sure what podcast it was, however.

Also, the MacBook Air M1 is faster emulating/translating Intel code that
the Intel chips running the code natively.
