I got crappy bandwidth because I was using both upload and download in my
asymmetric connection.  Once I disabled network backups and my upload stopped,
I got 4-5MB/s which is what my ISP says I should expect.  

Maybe there's a bottleneck between the troll and Apple's servers.  They
haven't posted any network metrics other than "it's slow", so who knows.
