Likewise for iOS updates. As others have said, the caching server caches downloads from *all* Apple clients on the same network by default. From Server Help: <https://help.apple.com/serverapp/mac/5.2/index.html?localePath=en.lproj#/apd74DDE89F-08D2-4E0A-A5CD-155E345EFB83> --- What is the caching service? The caching service speeds up the downloading of software distributed by Apple and of data in users’ iCloud accounts by caching content that local Mac computers, iOS devices, and Apple TV devices have already downloaded. How does it work? A Mac running the caching service keeps a copy of all content that local networked devices (called clients) download. For example, when the first client on your network downloads an operating system update, the caching service keeps a copy of the update. When the next client on the network connects to the App Store to download the update, the update is copied from the caching service rather than from the App Store. Because the local network is normally much faster than the Internet, the second client (and all subsequent clients) download updates much faster. --- > Where would I find logged evidence of the second computer using the > cached file instead of the internet? Cache server logs are at /Library/Server/Caching/Logs/. The default location is /Library/Server/Caching/Data on the startup volume. If you change it to another volume, the data is stored in a hidden folder at the root of the volume (don't recall the name of the folder at the moment, but it's an obvious one). -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter.
