Plenty of room.  Check to see if your MBP is on their list in regards to 
El Capitan OS.  If it is, there is Xcode 7 available plus Swift 2.0.
About the only improvement Swift has done over C is that they dropped 
the ; at the end of statements.  The rest is of the improvements are 
help in cutting down on the amount of coding you'd have to do in C.
