I have managed to really foul up a disk. This is a USB external disk,
1TB, two partitions. I was running 10.5.8 when I messed things up. I've
moved the disk to 10.7.5 and the same problem persists.

The icon for both partitions shows a closed padlock. I can do absolutly
nothing on this disk. If I try to open either partition I get a message
saying that it can't be opened "because you don't have permission to see
its contents." Information for the disk shows me as the owner, with
staff and everyone at the next two levels. All three of these have
Custom privileges. A can unlock the Info window as usual, but when I try
to change my privilege to Read & Write, nothing happens -- no error
message, no flashing, no feedback at all, and, of course, no change to
my privileges.

One of the partitions on this disk is an image created by Carbon Copy
Cloner. I need it now; the machine where it was created died. Any help
will be gratefully received.
