Set the LAN address of the router to a fixed address in your IP range, 
turn off the DHCP server and plug the ethernet cable into a LAN port of 
the router. Depending upon the router, if it has the capability of being a 
wifi CLIENT, you can connect with wifi if you want.

AFAIK these routers run a version of SAMBA, so the printer will appear as
a Windows printer.
