The Macbook Air, base (16 GB, 256GB) is probably the best value 
proposition of any laptop, period.  Would be better with 512GB store, mind.

Indeed, if you need a computer (any computer) run, don't walk, to the 
companies that have locked their prices (like Apple).

Memory prices are rocketing - it will show up in pricing soon.

I've tried an AI platform called LM Studio with a few different models - 
currently Meta Llama 3.1 xxx.

When it runs, the CPU cores are pretty much dead, but the GPU cores are 
saturated (as reported by iStat Menu).

Wicked fast too.  (iMac M3).
