Based on my experience of the HSJ-40, you have self tests that are run
as a part of the booting. There is additional diagnostics that you can
run after boot. Maybe you'll need a shelf with a disk for some
diagnostics to check that the SCSI works, but just getting it to boot is
pretty much enough testing that the actual HSJ works fine. What's left
is testing CI and SCSI, both which requires external hardware to test.
If you have that, then I believe there are tests that will check them too.
Start by typing "DIR" at the prompt, to check what programs are
available in the HSJ.
