It actually isn't if you use a real system but that's because it's an effect of artifacting. The good news is that some emulators emulate that. Altirra is one such program that does it. As far as Ultima III, it was was favorite of 1 - 4 on the Atari. I foolishly threw away my box (actually remember doing it) but kept the map. Other than the disks, did you keep anything else?
