Well the Reason for the Cart is that the game takes up 1024k of Space.
So chris put it on a 1024k Cart so it could bank switch the data one
64k chunk at a time from the cart game in to the Ram of the system
(which is on average 64k).

Also, Disk Loading would be unbearable. it would take forever to load
each level and would have to stop the game to load more data sometimes
in Mid Gameplay.
