But since I still have to scale the resulting sprite, I could as well use the ChangeFSI function right away. The routine does allow me to convert 2 or 3 small JPEGS, or 1 slightly bigger JPEG, to the desired thumbnail before it runs out of memory. But I've no idea how to manage extra workspace, nor do I have an idea how to save the resulting sprite into an existing sprite file.
