I have encountered an odd effect with some HP printers and the RISC OS 
drivers. The data is sent to the printer and occasionally nothing happens. 
Then either after a wait of a minute or so, or when a second print is 
sent, the printer responds. It seems that the final part of the message is 
missing in some circumstances. Could this be what you are getting?
