#2835 — Christmas Themes

Message-ID<65da813d52.rob@rob.robheaton.co.uk>
I remember back in school on the network comprised of 20 x A3020
machines, each christmas we changed the WIMP icons to a christmas
theme.

Does anyone have any christmas themed icons for RISC OS?
It would be interesting if anyone had the set for RISC OS 3 that I can
still remember!

I know there were some in the PD library so if you have a look through the
PD library catalogue on the APDL site you should be able to find something.

Not icons, but I once wrote something that put christmas lights along
the top of the screen and blinked them red, green, and blue (and this
was waaaaaay before blue lights were "trendy").

OMG - the issues with redraws. <sigh> ;-)

Best wishes,

Rick.

I think I may have this on my rpc in england. If I remember
correctly, doesn't it also have (for example) a Christmas
pud for the HD4 icon etc.

Yuck! Christmas pudding! Yuck!

Same idea, I guess. But that one won't be mine.

I don't recall changing the harddisc icons, though I did do a version
that replaced the window gadgets with bauble-inspired ones [*], and... I
forget the name - that metre long plastic fluffy thing you stick in the
tree or around windows; I did the scroll icons to look like that. Not
sure if this one was ever released; I *may* have dropped a binary on an
argonet group...

* - can I claim prior art on MacOS' icon designs? ;-)

Best wishes,

Rick.

It's not on the RiscPC. If/when I dig out the A5000, I'll see if:

   a. The harddisc still starts
&
   b. If the program is there

Sorry, it might be around for *next* Christmas if we're lucky.

Best wishes,

Rick.
