Mine is one of the first batch of boards (therefore the earliest
Revision 1 that made it to the mass market), and that's the only
way it has ever been powered.  However, there are two cables between
the hub and the RPi: one does all the data in the usual way, and
the other powers the RPi via the micro USB power connector.
