So since July 1997 am I living on borrowed time?
The only problem that might be associated with an impending failure is
a few weeks ago a couple of times about a week apart when I first
switched it on I got the message "*abort on data transfer" and it
would not finish booting, cleared by control/break. No repeat for at
least a month. Computer is switched on every day except Sundays at
about 0730 and off again at about 2200.
I took out the PC card when I got myself a real PC. At the time of the
above failure(?) on the RPC I was having Big Problems with the 5 year
old hard drives on my PC, which I had to replace. So am I on borrowed
time on my RPC HD too? (7GB, and still enough for everything except my
music which is of necessity on the PC. Here 2 X 1 TB)
Keep meaning to tell the world, or at any rate this newsgroup, what I
have been using my RPC for for the past fifteen years. Might do it
after my wife's coffee morning on this Thursday which has taken over
the house.
