Pluto stashes the information news and mail fetcher info when you run
the preferences setting. It would be useful if it was set to look at a
variable each time it was needed - it doesn't do that.

However, IIRC the info it stashes is only the details of which of
possibly many copies of PopStar and Newshound you want to use not what
those are set to fetch from.
