Just to round-off this particular thread, Richard wanted a
BeagleBoard-compatible version.

It was suggested that I should update the BASIC code to use the latest
DrWimp library, which I have done, and Chris Johnson generously gave his
time to Arm7-ify some of the utilities used within Pic_Index, namely
intergif, jpegtran, rdjpgcom, and TestAlt which was used to allow
invocation of an enhanced logging mode for debugging.

The version incorporating these modifications is available for exhaustive
testing at:

        http://petit.four.free.fr/picindex/download/index.php

presently at version 1.24b.  Any subsequent further-tweaked versions will
be available from the same page.

Updated contact information for me is in the Info box of the program and in
the manual.
