hi naveen its simple dont get confused......
first thing i will tell u about the severity
severity it is the fuctional impact of a bug on the application
ie how much the bug is affecting the application
and priority is the business impact of the bug ie if the bug is in the application how much it affects the business...
we go with the examples....

High severity high priority: while entering the valid data in a registration page and clicking submit button the application is getting crashed and we cant go to further successful pages this an eg for above title.

high severity and low priority: in a phone number field of an application if we enter the thousand numbers it will hang the system as it must no take the numbers more than 15,here the priority is low coz any how we can continue the business with that bug right no one is going to enter thousand numbers in the phone number field but as per functional point its a high severity coz the application should not behave like that

low severity high priority: here in the application the companies name is misspelled then its a high priority coz people wont belive if companies name is misspelled  as per functional point its not affecting any where..

low severity low priority: if there are any cosmetic errors in the application ie any typos or validation errors it is low severe and low priority
