Thanks. But you make sound it is a user error not to know
that deleting a line requires searching the help system and
finding more links to follow in order to find CTRL+DELETE to
delete a line.

You'd think that DEL or backspace or selecting the line and
pressing DELwill do it

And why does RETURN at end of an OUTPUT not start a new cell
automatically? The mouse does not even move. One has do CTRL+J ?

And why is hitting return in Maple, when inside an empty execution
cell generate double the number of empty execution cells below
where I hit it? So after 10 hits, I have zillion empty
execution cells. Try it.

Who designed this UI any way?

You want to know how it is in Mathematica? Really hard:

Point the cursor on the screen, and start typing any where
where there is no cell, a new cell is created automatically.
Point and type.

Want to delete a cell? Guess what? put the mouse at edge
of the cell and press DEL.

Want to go to new cell? put the mouse below the cell and type.
The mouse even changes shape to tell one they are in empty
area below the cell. Just start typing. No CTRL+J funny
business and searching help to find how to do it.

And I did not even need to search the help system to find any
of these.
