That is a poor distinction to try to backpedal upon.  You claimed that 
makefiles have existed for 40 years, and that they have been 
automatically generated for 40 years.

You talked about automatic generation of makefiles, and 
"autoconf"/"automake" are clearly relevant to that point.  Don't be 
silly.  Your repeated attempts to try to exclude Windows programmers 
from the discussion, almost every time accompanied some sort of pointed 
comment about how one should use Unix instead of Windows, are fairly 
silly, too.  Please participate in a discussion about makefile 
portability across Windows, Unix, and indeed other development 
platforms, like an adult would. The rest of us are.
