Also wrote a network controller on a bare bones 68000 (no chipset, no OS, just the CPU) for a baling wire and duct tape network around the same time frame. Also remember writing 6502 assembler by typing in the hex codes direct into the "monitor" of an Apple ][, Apple ][+ and Apple ][e about the same time frame. Back then I actually had the simple 6502 instruction set memorized. :-) I also remember having hair back then... :-(
