The inherent contradiction, you mean? The fact that he’s thinking about
gay marriage while answering that he doesn’t think about it? Or perhaps
it’s a lack of self-awareness ...

William F Buckley defined conservatism much more succinctly: “A
conservative is someone who stands athwart history, yelling Stop”.

When they try to encourage disadvantaged groups to get involved and be
included in the discourse, you see that as some how “excluding”
somebody ... but who?

If you can't actually address what I actually said, and can't refer to
what I specifically am responding to, you're wasting my time with
rhetorical and dishonest games.

I'm honestly no longer surprised when a thread in this group ends up
drifting towards far-right speech (which is at least where this is
clearly arriving at in other parts of the thread...). I may have to
enlarge the killfile.

At least at some point such posts were crossposted to other groups, and
it was easier to match that with a rule.

I cant actually think of anyone I have ever met that I could described

Here is a bigoted English dandy lecturing Muhammad Ali about how not to be
a racist and to be more like him, someone who talks a great game but would
likely have wilted on the vine if he had to live among blacks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqiWFLsgVi4

I assume this Brit hypocrite would have been like the residents of
Martha's Vineyard, quite recently, when Ron DeSantis sent a literal
handful of illegal migrants to their island.

They quickly gave up their cherished ideals of equity and equality and
sanctuary sanctimony clap-trap and hounded the innocent migrants off their
territory faster than an eye could blink.

Shazam, they were shipped off by authorities the very next day. Those
poor saps didn't even have time to grab a bite to eat at The Atlantic
Grill or visit the museum or even time to grab a quick drink at Alchemy's
Bistro & Bar or take a stroll along the rocky beach.

The enlightened and progressive lecturers of righteousness turned into the
fanged and fiery-eyed when reality came knocking on their very own doors.

Closer still to Fentanyl which is a opiate-like chemical
but much stronger than the standard morphine or heroin.
A single dose can be deadly by suppressing the breathing
reflex especially in concert with alcohol or many other
drugs. And it is being used on the street to dilute many
other drugs which makes the result deadly.
Most Marxists (Karl not Groucho) treat it as a religion so
Marxism as political idea, is the Fentanyl of the people.

Fascism then (and all governments are fascist in that they
resort to force to enforce their rule) is another drug for
the control driven. Christian Fascism is still Fascism and
a poor substitute for democracy. Marxist Fascism as seen
in the Soviet Union of old, in Cuba and Mainland China
presently is still Fascism. Currently the Fascism in the
Russian Federation is of the Anarchic Oligarchy species.

I think capitalism and its inherent values may be
the cocaine or maybe just coffee and cigarettes of civilized
societies. And it need close regulation so that it does not
poison the air, water and earth which the bad or merely
stupid capitalists take for granted.

The reason I said crack cocaines is that Marxism is speed. It makes
people believe that they are absolutely right, they need to do violent
shit, overthrow the existing order ...
Maybe crystal meth is a better term to use.

I have had fentanyl in a medical context during surgery. It is a
marvellous drug. Unbelievably potent but falls out of the body much
faster than morphine.

I can totally see why people would want to simply stick it in their
bodies full time.

Yup. Fascism as she is currently understood is simply a government
imposing shit against the will of the people.

Communism, the EU, and all US giovernment...

Capitalism per se was invented the first time a man took some cattle,
and offered free meat to the rest of the tribe if they would help him
build a fence around them so they didn't have to go hunting any more.
But instead would use their spear to keep the lazy hunter gatherers from
stealing the cattle.

Later on, they took the hunter gatherers as slaves and made them feed
the cattle and repair the fences.

Still later they started planting grain to feed the animals, and then
told the slaves they could eat the grain too.Meat was for them.

Marxist morality is the morality of the hunter-gatherer.

It is simply inconsistent with a post modern technological society.

You cannot construct and manage complexity without some sort of division
of labour and a hierarchy.

Keeping that hierarchy relevant and functional is the job of democracy.

You cannot construct and manage large projects without capital.

Marxism simply gives all the capital to a bureaucracy which is not
rewarded for success or punished for failure.

The world thrives on competition, accumulation of personal and corporate
wealth, education and social mobility.

Which is why enforced poverty and a strict caste system is the goal of a
totalitarian government

These checks and balances are being systematically dismantled,
leaving modern capitalism (giant corporations aided and abetted
by the governments that were supposed to regulate them) running
out of control.

From time to time I hear the term "corporatism".
I think of that as a contraction of "corporate fascism".

Corporate Feudalism. Comes with Fascism built-in.

Good point. In fact, I just listened to a podcast by Cory
Doctorow in which he mentions the phrase "techno-feudalism".
(He credits it to someone else whose name I forget.)

Sounds of nails being struck fair and square.
