Good point. I knew about this for a while, but I'm considered a power
user of sorts - now that you brought it up, I don't exactly know where
I came across this, or if I ever saw it prominently placed on the
firefox website or some such. Probably it's burried somewhere deep down
inside.

After evalutation I'd love to hear about your results. Usually I don't
touch the settings, so I remember only a single time when at work I had a
rather powerful workstation (i.e. much more recent than my 9 year old
laptop at home), so I actually increased the defaults to make use of
the faster CPU.

It never crossed my mind if setting them down a bit might improve the
experience on slower computers (or connections).
