You can't `umount <USBstik>` if you can't find which VT is still 'busy with it' !! I've normally got 20 VTs open, over the 4 Desktops. Previously I used KDE3, and I made a utility using `lsof` & `pstree -p` to list a table of eg: 3,4 = /path1/file1 ... 1,6 = /pathN/fileN Now I've finally got a krnl:2.6.* & X running and I want to use xfce, which doesn't group the VT-branches under the Desktop's 'node' in the `pstree -p` diagram. It apparently just draws them chronologically. So I can't see which VT 'has' a certain path. Especially since most VTs have text files open in them, which needs extra acrobatics to see `pwd`, so by the time I've found the correct VT, I've forgotten where I'm heading. Of course there's some file/S somewhere, which relates the Desktop, VT to its open file/S. How do YOU manage? == TIA.
