I've had odd problems with MX on a HP laptop that are related to picky pointer placement and phantom keystrokes/touchpad moves. Tried a bunch of little things but it still happens some. However MX is so good I'm not going to flush it over this (and had WORSE issues with other deb-based distros). So, in any case, you're not crazy.
