Hi newsgroup,

Are there any Linux tools out there that runs in the background, and does the fo
llowing:

1. Records time, quantity of data down/up, IP addresses, port number and path to the program
2. Does a DNS lookup of all the external IP addresses

I was hoping something like this would be useful for security auditing. You know
, leave the computer idle for a while and see if it calls home.
