Unfortunately, smorgasbord of garbage did not include the pen. I never thought about that at the time, so I have no idea whether it was there or not. > 2. Which one? However, for free (or if the pen isn't too expensive, for the price of the pen), it obviously becomes more tempting. I've scribbled things on paper, little diagrams that I've traced of something, and then scanned the paper in order to keep the information handy (it beats digging through piles of scraps of paper), and a tablet would eliminate the intermediate step of drawing on paper then scanning. I imagine if someone was doing a lot of original drawing, the tablet would be really useful, since it isn't that easy to draw something with the mouse and Gimp. The tablet has the advantage of being "natural". I suspect if I get the tablet going (ie I get the pen), I would use it. > 4.
