Larger screens and screens with higher definition has killed Ubuntu Unity desktop --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At last some common sense is returning to the Ubuntu camp with re-introduction of unique menus for each application, The idea that menus will only be available at the top bar instead of having one menu for each window that is open is being tossed. The excuse being given is the mobile phones have larger screens, while smaller screens have high definition negating the need for clutter reduction measures. We all know they blew their customers away by being stubborn about their new UI and refusing to let users have options to go back to what they are used to. At least then they would not have lost so many users. And now its all a waste any way. Hopefully the Ubuntu team is not going to piss on its users again and letting goose stepping UI Nazis run riot dictating what users can and cannot have as a choice and so can go back to being the normal wonderful distro that it was before its wasted days and wasted enery on Unity crap which will now never see the light of day in its original form because screen resolutions have gone through the roof. Personally I would be happy if the menu brought up a whole bunch of semitransparent buttonized icons for mobile use as a choice I can enable because they grubby fingers can operate the chubby buttons with great ease and speed in smaller mobiles.
