Whoa!  Wasn't expecting anyone to have this much fun as
a spinoff of my initial post!!  I was hoping that *I* would
have the fun!  ;-)

In fact, I didn't run yet the script that you sent, because
it looked like it should be directly translatable to any
programming language (just using the pseudo-filesystem
structure to communicate with the lower-level parts)...

So, I might try first to read through it and translate it
to C or C++ and try for myself!  :-)
