The disbanding of their automation team didn't convince you Automator is going the way of the Dodo? They bought an iOS app called "Workflow" and it looks like they believe that's the future. I'm sure they'll move it into their "traditional desktop" OS but they obviously care more about mobility and the cloud because that's where the lion's share of their revenue lives. <https://techcrunch.com/2017/03/22/apple-has-acquired-workflow-a-powerful-automation-tool-for-ipad-and-iphone/>

I was just posting a reply to this using slrn in Linux and I thought it went through but the terminal seemed to have frozen and I quit it so the text may have gotten lost. I looked for a folder (vim and slrn) where a tmp text file might have gotten saved but I can't find one. Is there such a beast? I seem to recall seeing one once somewhere.

It would if it's a vim swap file. I assume the My_Posts and My_Replies are themselves files, not directories, in the way that tin's Mail/posted is a single file to which posted articles are appended. I really have no experience with slrn to speak of though, so can't help beyond the above.

Not a big deal as the post was just me pointing out how Apple dumping Automator would piss some people off but, in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't going to affect the "average" user much.
