Hmm, I see Linux has dropped to 0.7%. Not good.

Someone should just pull the plug on desktop Linux.
It's an epic fail.

Nah, as long as it does what I need it to do, I'm ok with it. Even if I
become the last user of desktop Linux on the planet.

In other news, one of the cells on my 6 cell battery in my netbook seems
to have failed, as I can only charge up to 87% now. In practical terms,
I've lost about an hour of use when using the battery: down to a little
over 4 hours now. I'm trying to decide between buying a new 9-cell battery
to replace it or buying one of System 76's netbooks.

Same old pipe dream for the WinTrolls. They think of "Desktop Linux" as a
single "product" that has to please stockholders quarter by quarter.
Unfortunately, for them, Linux distributions are put together by a whole
lot of volunteers who aren't about to quit releasing new versions of their
distributions just because some toady for Microsoft writes a negative
article or two. There's nobody for Gates to buy out or threaten into
extinction.

Learn to live it, WinTrolls, Desktop Linux isn't going anywhere. Meanwhile
embedded Linux, Linux on servers and mobile Linux are eating Microsoft's
lunch. You'll have to learn to live with that also.

And, again, if Desktop Linux is so "inconsequential" why do WinTrolls rail
on about it 24/7 in a Linux Advocacy Newsgroup?

Indeed, & why was M$ so worried about "linux having only 1% market
share" that they hired an Open Source Desktop Strategy Czar ("a strong
team member to lead Microsoft’s global desktop competitive strategy as
it relates to open source competitors.”)
Are the wintrolls so busy chanting their "1%" mantra (in the vain hope
that it's true) that they don't read the news?

The simplest of all reason is the most plausible.

They just don't know how to count Linux.

If they did, then they would be able to put that into
their SEC filing.

So what they can't count hurts them.
It counts against them as disappearing sales.

Not a bright future there for windummies no matter
how you look at it because their sales are dwindling despite
boasting meaningless market share figures figures.

All your desktops belong to us says Linux and
micohsaftees turn that around and say look at market share.
Quoting market share to browser share are meaningless if they
are not measuring how many users actually sat in front of computers using
a given OS.

It should be physical PC desktop usage share which I reckon is at least 7%
globally for Linux. Some sort of name must be given to this share so
that everyone can agree they are measuring the same thing and how
they came to measure it.
7% puts it past the magic 7% threshold for declaring Linux as mainstream
which I reckon where its at today.

In their SEC filing M$ (guess)estimates Linux users at 10-12% & possibly
as much as 14%, & warns that this can affect their business & drop in

Here's the official SEC filing Dumb Willy - where *exactly* does Microsoft
say any such thing?

They're not interested in the facts - Dumb Willy is an advocate and that's
all they need to know.

Not one of the "advocates" will question the bald faced lies from Dumb
Willy. But I'm sure we'll see a lot of the bottom feeders come along and
leg-hump the liar with some "me too" posts.

What exactly do you expect? Since his claims have been disproven I don't
see any reason why one should write once again that his claims are
disproven.

Yes it does. It proves that you're a lying piece of shit who made up a claim
that is completely false.

Changing the subject line doesn't change the fact that you're a piece of
shit liar.

William Poaster has been once again bitch slapped.

Maybe he can head over to the Ubuntu forums and fend off the tidal wave
of complaints that will surely begin later this week when "nappy headed
little boy" gets shat out of the Canonical rectum.

Yea, but Zeke kicked your lying ass to the curb William Poaster.

So where is *your* proof of the SEC claims you make?

We are waiting.......

Especially when the "anti-advocates" are so hostile to "me too" posts.

Maybe Dumb Willy should at least make some pathetically weak effort to
backup his claim: Where in the SEC does Microsoft actually say what the liar
claimed?

Because it's a sad joke when a bunch of idiots all line up and start doing a
"me too" to something that is verifiably wrong.

It's the COLA Linux advocate way.
What else can they do but LIE for LIEnux?

They certainly can't advocate Linux because once you get past the free
part, there is little else.
