Hello Marti,

There are are number of things that I can read out of your posting, but 
I will only comment on two of them;

1) Dell does not understand the market for tablets.
2) You have never used a tablet in real life.

Tablet usage appears to fall into three categories:
1) Book Reading
2) Social Networking
3) Mobile Productivity

Unless you are planning on reading the eBook of Spells an 18.4" tablet 
is overkill for book reading.

Doing on-line tweets on the move with an 18.4" tablet is not what I 
would imagine some pre-pubescent teenager wanting to do. It would be 
seriously uncool.

I know from personal experience that writing reports while sitting in a 
plane requires a small computer not some monster. The same thing goes 
for sitting on trains or automobiles. After an hour of holding my 10.1" 
Samsung tablet it feels like it is made of solid lead. Some 18.4" 
monster would be a killer.

When you are sitting in a cramped space, there is no room for a 
keyboard. The on-screen keyboards are quite slow for writing. The best 
solution that I have come across so far is written text entry. The 
Samsung Galaxy Note (running Android) is very good for that.

The vast majority of tablets being sold are in the mini range (7"). I 
really can't see this monster being used as a tablet computer. If you 
don't want to use it as a tablet, why not get a laptop or even better an 
all-in-one or a desktop?

I guess that it is this lack of market understanding that is killing 
Dell and Microsoft for that matter.
