This is to announce that comp.newprod is now reopened for
	submissions.

According to "Comp.Newprod submission guidelines," as quoted
in [1], "The submission must be an announcement of a new product
or service. The product must be computer-related, and it must
be of potential interest to a large number of Usenet readers.
The message must be of lasting value, thus we do not accept
trade show announcements, special pricing offers, etc.
Commercial messages other than new product announcements are
	not appropriate for this newsgroup."

Please review the entirety of guidelines at [1], as well as
additional considerations / updates at [2] (that are being
posted alongside this announcement), before posting here.

Note that you have an option of submitting your articles via
email at comp-newprod-submit@newsmod.am-1.org . Please refer
	to [2] for important details.

It is my intent to post a pointer to applicable submission
guidelines to this group several times a year, though no
	specific plan as yet.

On a personal note, I don't hold much hope for this group, but
still believe it deserves a chance. I don't expect Big Money
to become interested in posting here, but it's very well
possible that smaller, niche companies might find their niche
audience among Usenet readers. As such, if you work at a
company like that, or are a customer of one, I'd like to ask
you to consider informing the appropriate sales people about
the existence of this group. After all, they're going to write
announcements anyway, and it'd only take reformatting those for
Usenet to reach a wider (if slightly) audience. TYC.
