Ask this "somebody" to ask his remaining contacts to look at his old
e-mails that he sent to them.  If they still have the old e-mails he
sent from his old Gmail account, the headers in them will indicate the
name of that Gmail account.  The recipients of his old e-mails sent from
his old Gmail account will know what was his old Gmail account.
