I have a hunch (but have made NO effort to prove--being "bottom line" oriented--that the price of the item is low-balled, and the "shipping and handling: is padded to make up the profit. I also suspect (and have made no effort to prove) that Amazon has contracts with "logistics" companies that five them low costs in the path.
