Agreed on all accounts.

The Internet presents another problem for link-state protocols, and 
that's how often things change.

Things are constantly changing on the Internet for various reasons; many 
good while some bad.  Such changes would mean that calculation would not 
finish before the next change happened, thus never stop and constant 
churn / path calculation.
