If anyone is interested, I just posted this piece of techno-ranting on
my web site (sort of blog style, but sorry, no "talk back"
functionality).

You know how very often you receive a mass e-mail where your address
is just one of the many ones in the CC list, instead of using BCC?
Well, people are irresponsible and do that, right?

Would you believe me if I told you that the same thing happened even
though the sender DID use BCC?? That is, that you receive an e-mail
where your address appears along with 40 or 50 others in the headers,
even though the sender DID use blind-carbon-copy for all those 40 or
50 addresses?

And if you do believe me, would you care to venture a guess as to
which piece of software would be capable of doing something that
unbelievably stupid?

(Hint: the list of BCC'd addresses appears in a custom header
X-MS-ExchangeCrossPremises-BCC)

I have searched my inbox and find none with that header.
By the way, is it
X-MS-ExchangeCrossPremises-BCC
or
X-MS-Exchange-CrossPremises-BCC
as in your blog?

Oops --- sorry for the typo; it's like the blog (I did use
copy-n-paste when writing it up, but not when posting
here).

Copy-n-pasted from my InBox (obviously without the
contents):

X-MS-Exchange-CrossPremises-BCC:

Maybe its a problem of the mailer.

> I have searched my inbox and find none with that header.

I often send mail with a bcc to one of my mailadresses (kmail and postfix),
the bcc is in the outbox only, but never in the received mail.
