I'd love to write all my mobile apps in Ruby, but the current toolchains are somewhat lacking. Ruboto is really cool for Android development, but JRuby makes Ruby really lag, taking ten seconds to load the JRuby JAR on my Galaxy SIII. RubyMotion is cool for iOS development, but it sucks to develop with nonFOSS tools. Can we add builtin, native support for mobile app development to Ruby? We shouldn't have to use JRuby when Android has the NDK, for example.
