**************      Here is clients.rb
require 'socket'

hostname = 'localhost'
port = 2000

s = TCPSocket.open( hostname, port )

while line = s.gets   # Read lines from the socket
  puts line.chop      # And print with platform line terminator
end
s.close               # Close the socket when done

************  Here is server.rb
require 'socket'                # Get socket from stdlib

server = TCPServer.open( 2000 ) # Socket to listen port 2000
loop {                          # Servers run forever
  client = server.accept        # Wait for a client to connect
  client.puts( Time.now.ctime ) # Send the time to the client
  client.puts "Closing the connection. Bye!"
  client.close                  # Disconnect from the client
}

I am just beginning to write socket programs! I would love to hear any recommendations pls.
