Did you looked at http://www.python-excel.org/ ?

May this can help you solving your problem.  Since you are not
explaining what you want to do I can really not help you more.  And I
don't use Excel too.

And maybe ask the people over at
http://groups.google.com/group/python-excel if they can help you.
