produce -- the most compatible form is to generate a FILE, and use OS
provided utilities to print said file after the fact.

	I've not seen anything that allows direct output to a printer since the
late 80s (many printers don't even understand a raw text file these days;
they expect either PostScript or something that is a printer-specific
stream of pixel data obtained from a memory image of the page).
