Look again, for the grouper() recipe. For lists you can also use slicing:

>>> items
['a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e', 'f', 'g']
>>> n = 3
>>> [items[start:start+n] for start in range(0, len(items), n)]
[['a', 'b', 'c'], ['d', 'e', 'f'], ['g']]
