It'd be mildly irritating to have to be subscribed to be able to post through gmane, but it wouldn't be the first group to have that requirement. Gossamer threads and Activestate both appear to use the mailing list archives and not allow posting. Bytes.com appears to mirror *stack overflow*, not this list, unless I'm missing something.
