Hello,

As did other people point out, it returns the lower case of a string. 
It's not user_input.lower(), it's any_string.lower()

For example:

Try this on your python prompt

mystring = "ThIs Is ThE wAy SoMe StUpId PeOpLe WrItE i DoN't KnOw WhY!"
mystring.lower()
