I completed the basic version of my learning app. (It can be found
here for those remotely interested:
http://www.tyresoschack.se/apps/LASK.py). (LASK rating usually are in
the range c 800 to c 2700 the higher the better).

It's just a simple tool to calculate LASK chess rating and completely
CLI based. The tutorial I was following doesn't cover GUI or error
correction so that will naturally be the next steps in completing the
thing.

Anyway, thanks for explaining the confusing points so far.
