Not only is it a ridiculous objection, I dont even understand what the objection
is.

Among the eminent this is quite common
Dijkstra -- ewd
Stallman -- rms
Eric Raymond -- esr

And even for non-eminent like your truly, most of my working life most people
called me 'rpm' than Rusi/Mody or any such.
