I think this is much more readable:

self.mainLabel.SetFont(wx.Font(12,
                               wx.DEFAULT,
                               wx.NORMAL,
                               wx.BOLD,
                               faceName = "FreeSans"))  

Emacs for example does this indentation with the TAB key automatically.
