Hello,

As you have noticed FreePascal is becoming more optimized for
speed on version 2.7.1 and i think it will get more and more optimized 
in the near future... so that's cool.

But if you want to get more speed from FreePascal or Delphi
on scientific applications, you can use for example LinMath Matrix 
library that uses SIMD SSE2 instructions and also that is multithreaded
and it compiles for 32-bit and 64-bit.
