I don't think it is primarily a matter of physical retaliation. I'm five
and a half feet tall, female, with gray hair and arthritic knees. I
would lose a physical fight with most newsgroup participants, and nobody
really worries about me punching them in the nose. I suppose I could
scream quite loudly, but tend not to do so.

I've never been called a corporate code-cutter drone, or anything
resembling it, to my face, not even in the early 1970's when I was
working for NCR as a junior programmer, and my job really was writing
the code I was told to write.
